"You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So...get on your way!"
- Dr Seuss
Our leafy Cotlew Street primary school campus is set on over 4 hectares of beautiful grounds in Ashmore, on the Gold Coast. It is home to our Junior Years students, approximately 400 boys and girls from Prep to Year 5, and is dedicated to the early years of learning. The campus features outstanding classroom technology and facilities as well as a heated swimming pool, library, learning support centre, tennis courts, sports field, art and music rooms and school hall. We have specialist teachers for Japanese, Sport, Music, Art, STEM and Library and our excellent academic programs and a dynamic range of co-curricular activities help our students build confidence and a love of learning.
Our focus is on developing and strengthening core literacy and numeracy skills, and we offer a range of learning experiences to help children cultivate creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration, providing them with the framework and guidance they need to reach their full potential – academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.
Our innovative classrooms and learning spaces are designed to stimulate attentiveness and growth, bringing together elements of play, creativity and relaxation as well as formal learning. By replacing the traditional setup of individual desks with a comfortable, group-focused environment including bean bags, lounges, mats, desks, high tables and chairs, children are encouraged to collaborate, share ideas and develop their learning intent together.
We combine classroom-based learning with outdoor activities, sports, performing arts, information technology and extracurricular social clubs such as book club, chess club, Lego club and a selection of foreign language clubs. These diverse learning opportunities promote healthy personal and social development together with academic growth, allowing children to participate in a range of activities as they discover their talents, passions and intents.
Limited enrolment opportunities are available. Contact the Admissions Registrar, Mrs Siobhain Blinko or telephone (07) 5556 8200 for enrolment enquiries.
