This Award is a leading structured (non-formal education) youth development program, empowering all young Australians between age 14 to 25 to explore their full potential regardless of their location or circumstance. It is internationally recognised and highly regarded in the community. It gives students the opportunity to experience challenge and adventure, acquire new skills and make new friends.
It is comprised of three levels each progressively more challenging:
Participants are required to complete four sections at each level: Service, Skill, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey. Gold level, participants also complete a Residential Project.
Participation is completely voluntary and students design their own programs within a given set of guidelines, enabling them to focus on pursuits that they are passionate about. They learn by experience the importance of commitment, enterprise and effort, discover a great deal about themselves and come to know the enjoyment of working with and for other people.
