Trinity aims to cater for every level of enthusiasm and ability, from those aspiring to state or national level to those for whom sport is purely for enjoyment, forming part of their healthy, active lifestyle. Sport is an important part of the curriculum and students at Trinity have the opportunity to experience and participate in a number of sports at both recreational and competitive levels.
Students in Years 6 to 12 compete in annual Inter-House carnivals, including Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country. Those students who excel in the House events are then selected to represent the college in the Inter-School carnivals for all three sports.
Trinity competes in the Associated Private Schools (APS) competition for sport. This competition comprises eight private schools on the Gold Coast. The summer and winter seasons consist of seven games each with Trinity playing every other APS school once.

Additional Sporting Opportunities
We encourage our students to work towards selection in representative sporting teams. Trinity is a member of the Hinterland District Sports Association. The first step in representative sport selection is into a Hinterland team. Talented athletes then progress by representing the South Coast Region at State Championships. We have had many students over the years gain state and national selection in a wide range of sports, and this should be the goal for all aspiring or excelling athletes at Trinity Lutheran College.
Extension Program: Velocitas Sports
Our sports programs cater for all levels of performance, while also providing pathways for the elite who wish to excel further. We offer a specialised pastoral care program for our elite athletes who train for many hours every week and compete at a representative level. This group has a pastoral care teacher with a professional sporting background. They meet regularly for pastoral care as well as throughout the year for special sporting events that will assist with monitoring these students and preparing them for a career in sport after school.
If you have any queries about sport at Trinity, please feel free to contact our Director of Sport and Activities (Prep to Year 12), Mr David Howells at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07 5556 8200.
