← Time and a place to read

Our libraries provide access to excellent resources. Cotlew and Ashmore campus libraries also provide pleasant and comfortable places for reading. We welcome you to visit.

Cotlew Street campus library now offers extended before school hours, supervised 'quiet reading time' from 8:15 - 8:30 am for students K - 5. Parents are welcome to spend this time with their children. Students can borrow between 8:30 am and 8:40 am. Years 1 – 5 can visit the library each lunch and play break to read, return, renew or borrow books. Students can borrow 4 items, but with a daily visit, potentially students could borrow up to 20 books a week! Increased borrowing limits can be arranged with parent permission and support. We are also open until 3.20 pm.

Ashmore Road campus library is open from 7:45 am – 4:45 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:45 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays. Students are encouraged to read broadly and regularly and parents also have the opportunity to use the library collection to support home reading. This is particularly important as students progress into the senior years of schooling and often feel there is "no time" for reading. Short 10 minute reading on a daily basis soon adds up and allows students to continue to read for pleasure, in addition to completing their academic reading.
