APS Athletics Carnivals:
Last week, the junior and senior athletics teams travelled to Somerset College for the annual running of the APS Athletics Championships. Both teams performed with distinction, with many personal best performances and top three placings. Special mention to Georgie Holyman who claimed the 9 years age champion trophy; Chloe Simpson, who set a new record in the 11years Shot Put; and Arkie Feehan, Taneesha Clarke and Alanasia Malone who were second in their respective age groups. The following highlights were recorded from both these carnivals:

Junior APS Athletics Carnival

  • Percentage Trophy: First place
  • Age Champion First Place: Georgie Holyman
  • Age Champion Third Place: Jetty Jenkins + Emily Barany
  • New Record: Chloe Simpson (11 Years Girls Shot Put)

Senior APS Athletics Carnival

  • Percentage Trophy: Third place
  • Age Group Champions: 14 Years Boys team
  • Age Champion Second Place: Arkie Feehan, Taneesha Clarke and Alanasia Malone

Regional Athletics Qualification:
Following the APS Athletics Carnival and on the back of exceptional individual performances, the following students have been selected in the District Athletics Team to contest the South Coast Regional Athletics Championships:

  • Girls: Chloe Simpson; Jazmine Smith; Alanasia Malone; Indya Vogel; Kylie Miokovich; Taneesha Clarke
  • Boys: Daniel Cooper; Jetty Jenkins; Ryan Roberts; Arkie Feehan; Fletcher Linscott

Rowing: Inter-Regional Crew Selection:
The following students have been selected in the Inter - Regional Rowing Team to contest next month's the State Championships. Considering the strength and depth of rowing talent on the Gold Coast, this is an exceptional achievement.

  • Girls: Lilian Goldie; Cassandra Duncan
  • Boys: Dylan Piott; Liam Pert
  • Reserves: Nicholas Lockhart; Amelia Maxwell; Benjamin Sims

Schools Regional Tennis Competition:
Trinity Lutheran College recently entered a male and female tennis team in each division of the Regional Schools Tennis Competition. Competing against schools like TSS and Palm Beach Currumbin who have tennis excellence programs, both boys’ and girls’ teams performed with distinction and were competitive throughout all matches. Congratulations to the following students who represented Trinity at this event:

  • Girls: Hannah Meyer; Sofya Ivanova; Ashleigh Scott; Ruby-Rose Richardson
