← Private Screening Movie Fundraiser: The Secret Life of Pets

We are thrilled to be working with Year 10 student, Cayley Little to raise much needed funds in support of Animal Welfare League Qld. Cayley has been volunteering at the AWLQ Rehoming Shelter at Coombabah for the past year and is collecting tinned pet food, blankets and towel donations in the Collection Boxes at each campus Reception. The P&F Auxiliary is hosting a private screening of the family movie, The Secret Life of Pets, on Saturday 10 September at the Events Cinema in Australia Fair Southport in support of Cayley. It is G rated and is a hit sensation overseas so please invite all your young and old friends. You can purchase “Chocolate Cat” and “Vanilla Dog” cupcakes donated by The Little Cupcake and Cookie shop for $2 each. A portion of the ticket price and pre-purchased Candy Bar sales will all go towards the AWLQ (and help you avoid the long queues!). Pre-screening activities start at 1.00 pm in the foyer with Braden Lamb’s, LJ Hooker Nerang sponsoring free face painting and the Curtin family sponsoring the Safari Rides at $2 a ride. There are also lots of free Lucky Seat prizes on offer. This is a great opportunity your kids to enjoy a movie with all their classmates at the cinema. $10 per movie ticket and all cupcake and candy bar purchases at www.trybooking.com/MJMJ by Thursday 1 September. Tickets selling fast – so don’t miss out!

The P&F Father’s Day Stall will be in the Robert Hoff Community Hall on the Cotlew Street campus on Wednesday 31 August. Each class will visit the stall during class time to buy a Father’s Day gift for their special loved ones. All the gifts are displayed in the Cotlew Street campus Library, Ashmore Road campus Library and in Student Reception. The students can “touch and feel” and start their wish list – it’s a great opportunity to give the children some jobs to earn their pocket money. We are grateful to the students in Ms Melanie Naughtin, Mrs Pat Bodero and Mrs Jannene Hanlon’s Year 10 Business classes who will run the stall on the Ashmore Road campus on Friday 2 September during Period 1 & 2 and during the morning Recess break for those who are not able to attend during class time. This is not a fundraiser but rather a community service for our families and staff. Please see the Price List and Poster for more information.

We are looking for student volunteers for the Movie Fundraiser Pre-Screening activities, and parents for the Father’s Day Stall on the Cotlew Street campus. Please consider volunteering some of your valuable time and contact us at P&F@tlc.qld.edu.au or 0419 182 070 to discuss your availability.
