This year Trinity Lutheran College Performing Arts students will take their talents on tour to Sydney in the first week of the June/July school holidays.
The students will showcase their singing, dancing, musicianship and acting to a variety of audiences whilst on the trip including a wonderful performance opportunity at Darling Harbour. Students are also extremely excited about participating in lots of wonderful workshop experiences at many iconic performing arts institutions including NIDA, Sydney Dance Company, Brent Street and Australian Theatre for Young People. Backstage tours of the Opera House, Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Conservatorium and the Opera centre will also give students a fantastic insight into the Arts industry. Their evenings will be filled with inspiring shows including 'We Will Rock You' and Bangarra Dance Company, with some time left over for sightseeing at Luna Park, Taronga Zoo and Circular Quay. We wish the staff and students a wonderful term as they prepare their performance items for this exciting experience.
Term 2 and 3 are shaping up to be extremely busy performance periods for the entire program, Prep to Year 12. Week 6 will see our primary students WOW audiences as they take to the stage in the 'Future Stars Concert' held on Friday 20 May at the Robert Hoff Community Hall. This concert will showcase all of our primary ensembles in the program including bands, choirs and dance ensembles. Monday 23 May will be our second Twilight Concert for the year where all students participating in private vocal, instrumental, dance and drama lessons can showcase their talents in an intimate and supportive concert setting. All secondary ensembles will be extremely busy preparing for their Term 3 concert series which will include 'Trinity Rocks', Dancefest, Music Showcase and Drama Festivals. We will also be entering groups in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod.
We wish all of our teachers and students an exciting Term 2 as they prepare for so many wonderful performance opportunities ahead of them this term.
