I’m wondering if others are feeling the increasing pace of life at the moment? Many have commented about the early introduction of Christmas paraphernalia in shops, and I even have friends who have put their trees up in response. Schools are interesting places in the last few weeks of a school year. Our school has become a hive of industry with final assessment of students, wonderful excursions and the preparation of our Christmas Carols concert. Our whole school will be renovated over the holidays and so much packing up and disposing of resources is also occurring. Students have started to tell us about the amazing plans they have for their Christmas holidays and how much they are looking forward to spending time with their families in a relaxed environment free from uniforms, school lunch preparation and homework! Our Early Learning and Out of School Hours Care staff continue to plan as their shut down period is only 2 weeks, but I know how much they enjoy having their centres operating through the December/January holidays.
For my family and myself, we are of course starting to pack so that we can relocate to Redcliffe in January. I am looking forward to being part of a new school community but in saying that I also stress that I am very sad to be leaving Trinity. I find in life that when it is difficult to say goodbye, it means true friends have been made and I am sure I will stay in touch with this community of beautiful children, families and staff. I want to commend the Trinity staff. Their dedication, love for children and the sheer hard work that occurs daily are exceptional, but I am sure I don’t need to tell you that, you already see the outcome of their labours. Martin Luther spoke of Vocation and it is really evident in our community – there’s no one working here ‘just for the pay’ it is an outworking of their belief, their faith and their professionalism.
May God bless your family through this Christmas season. May you know the joy of His birth and until we meet again, farewell.
