What was your first job? My first job was a trainee position in a childcare centre in NSW.
How long have you worked? I have been working since 2008. I have been teaching for the last 2 years.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is watching the progression in my students, academically, socially and emotionally.
What is your educational background? Throughout university, I worked casually as a Childcare Worker. I then worked for 3 years with Children with Disabilities through the Cerebral Palsy League. Once I completed university, I worked for 1½ years at Queensland Independent College.
What are your interests/hobbies outside of work? I play social touch football at Robina once a week. I also love going to the gym. A big hobby of mine is to try different restaurants on the Gold Coast.
Where were you born? I was born in a small country town in NSW called Taree.
What is your favourite colour?My favourite colour is purple.
What is your favourite song (title and artist)? Currently my favourite song is We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth.
What is your favourite cuisine? ITALIAN!! I could eat pasta 3 meals a day.
If we’re sitting here a year from now celebrating what a great year it’s been for you in this role, what would you say we achieved at Trinity? A community based, engaging and fun atmosphere at school.
When have you been most satisfied in your life? When I became an Auntie to the most precious boy, Oliver.
What do you like to do in your down time? Travelling – near and far.
What is your favourite family pastime? I am 1 of 6 children in my blended family. I loved growing up with so many siblings around. My favourite family pastime would be camping and the memories we created camping for 3 weeks every Christmas at Hawks Nest NSW – playing spotlight, riding bikes, boogie boarding, camp fries and toasting marshmallows.
How did you meet your partner, the love of your life? Through a mutual friend who was my university friend and his school friend.
What things do you not like to do? Cooking – I don’t necessarily not like to do it, I’m just not good at it.
Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your life? Attaining a job straight out of university.
What do you think is the next big thing in ICT? Virtual reality.
