  • What do you do in your role? Oversee the Trinity Sports Program from Prep to Year 12.
  • What are your areas of specialisation? Extra-curricular sport program; including APS and non – APS Sports. I also teach Year 7 and Year 12 Health and Physical Education and I am a qualified Science and Biology teacher.
  • What was your first job? I first worked at Woolworths as a night filler. In essence, I stacked shelves at night in preparation for the following day’s opening hours. It was a job I had through university.
  • How long have you worked? I have been teaching for 16 years
  • What’s the most rewarding part of your job? Engaging with students and enabling them to fulfil ambitions and goals; this is in and out of the classroom.
  • What are some of your notable previous employers and roles? I worked at John Paul College where I taught Science and PE, whilst co-ordinating the Horizons Sports Excellence Program. I then moved to Canterbury College as the Head of Sport and for the final 18 months (before moving to Trinity), I was the Middle School Co-ordinator.
  • What is your educational background? Bachelor of Exercise Science, Bachelor of Education and Level 4 Middle Distance Running Coach
  • What are your most notable work-related achievements and/or awards received? As a student I was School Captain of my College; and I won the 1500m Australian Championship. As a running coach, for 8 years I coached the two time Olympian, Genevieve LaCaze.
  • What are your interests/hobbies outside of work? Surfing and family.
  • Where were you born? Brisbane
  • What is your favourite song? Head Around by Died Pretty (80’s / 90’s Aussie band)
  • What is your favourite cuisine? Italian
  • If we’re sitting here a year from now celebrating what a great year it’s been for you in this role, what would you say we achieved at Trinity? Trinity sporting teams have a reputation for being determined, willing and tough opponents. Results are secondary to this.
  • Who is your role model? My Mum.
  • How did you meet your wife, the love of your life? I met my wife when I was teaching at John Paul College over 10 years ago. She chased me!
  • Who is in your family? Myself; Leandra (wife); Aria (2-year-old daughter); Leo + Clara (10 month old twins)
  • What things do you not like to do? I am not a fan of domestic chores around the house
  • Favourite holiday destination? Noosa
  • Favourite Movie? In the Name of the Father
  • If you weren’t a teacher, you would…? Own a fruit shop in Lennox Head and surf before and after work.
