← ​Coffee & Chat with Carolyn Thistlethwaite, Deputy Head of Junior Years and PYP Coordinator

What is your role at Trinity? I am the Deputy Head of Early and Junior Years and PYP (Primary Years Program) Coordinator on the Junior School campus. I have been in this role for 6 years.

Where have you worked before? I was Director of Teaching and Learning at John Paul College Junior School in Brisbane prior to joining Trinity,

What are you passionate about? My passion lies with teaching and learning, and supporting teachers in the classroom to provide an engaging, stimulating and challenging environment for children to learn and grow. I am also passionate about the PYP (Primary Years Program) and I am a lead educator, consultant and workshop leader for the International Baccalaureate Organisation. This role supports my work at Trinity and gives me opportunities to learn from other schools and to enhance my knowledge to assist students here at the college. Most recently I presented a paper at an international conference in India about our language program and cultural activities which support our international community in the college.

Tell us more about yourself: What else can you share with us? I moved to the Gold Coast about 20 years ago. My husband, Rod and I have 2 boys and we live on acreage at Tallai. My family are Suns supporters and we love fishing and spending time with our extended family.
