← 80’s Rewind - What a party!

The P&F Auxiliary members were honoured to celebrate the college’s 35th Anniversary in true Trinty style with the 80’s Rewind party on Saturday 4 June in the Robert Hoff Community Hall. We could not have done it without the generous sponsorship of Dr Andrew Letchford Orthopaedic Surgeon, Medland Orthodontics and Spendelove Bistro & Bar as the Premium Sponsors. We would also like to acknowledge and thank Event Sponsors: Backdrops Fantastic Australia, Burling Brown Architects, Cambio Group Accountants, Teresa Berger Professionals Real Estate Bundall, Tyler International Study Tours, Ultra Tune Ashmore & Harbour Town, Topspin Pix Jannene Meyer Photography and First Print Digital. These companies kindly donated their services and financial assistance to subsidize the ticket price.

The P&F want to highlight the important contribution of the newly appointed Community Relations Officer, Melanie Calzavara, who inspired us with the concept, designed and implemented the invitations, and made this event sensational and successful. It was a pleasure to work with Mel and we thank her once again for her hard work.

It all began on Friday when our hardworking groundsmen set up the hall, and our enthusiastic parent volunteers – Shainey O’Neill, Hayley Haygarth, Lisa Richardson and Kathy Cherrier let their creative juices and expertise quickly convert the school hall into a spectacular scene from the 80’s. Alumnus, Nick Willner added his touch with the effective lights and sound equipment, and Trinity’s Blum family provided excitement and colour with their Balloons Galore table and dance floor decorations.

Even the torrential rain did not dampen the spirits of 220 guests eagerly dancing their way into the hall to the sound of 80’s tunes, donned in their crazy (but cool) 80’s gear. They were surprised to see the hall decked out in neon and flashing lights. The photo booth provided plenty of laughter and helped capture memories to take home. Later, we were treated to delicious food served by our professional friends at Spendelove Bistro & Bar, then swiftly abandoned our seats to dance the night away.

The impressive Alumni band entertained the crowd and was clearly the highlight of the evening. It was wonderful to see so many past and present staff and parents embrace this significant college event and it was sad to see the night come to an end. Once again, we thank our guests and sponsors for their contributions in making the night the success it was. We truly hope you walked away with a new friend or two and many happy memories. Happy 35th Birthday Trinity!

The P&F will be hosting the Sausage Sizzle for the upcoming Federal Election on Saturday 2 July in the Robert Hoff Community Hall. We do this to stay connected with our local community and we pride ourselves in welcoming back familiar faces who traditionally return to this polling booth. Please let us know if you can kindly donate a few hours to help us cook and serve.
