← 2017 Student Leadership

The selection process for the 2017 Student Leadership Team is well under way. Nominations and voting involving students and teachers have already taken place and the short listed team is now ready for a term of service.

Congratulations to the 44 students from both Middle and Senior Years who will be vying for the final places on the leadership elect team. The process will continue into Term 4. The short-listed team and the teachers will be given an opportunity to vote for the 2017 positions which are:

Senior School:

  • College Captains
  • College Vice-Captains
  • House Christian Life Captains
  • House Academic Captains
  • House Cultural Captains
  • House Sport Captains

Middle School

  • Middle School Captains
  • Middle School Vice Captains
  • House Christian Life Captains
  • House Academic Captains
  • House Cultural Captains
  • House Sport Captains

A total of 32 students will represent the college as badged leaders in 2017.

The process of interviewing for the captaincy roles will take place in Term 4. Each interviewee will be allocated a set of points on a 5 point scale. These will then be tallied and added to the votes already collated. An independent source will collate the results and the final results will be announced at the Celebration of Excellence evening at the end of term 4.

This is a fair and trustworthy system. There is, of course, always disappointment but we feel that it is a healthy learning experience because all 44 students will have had an opportunity to serve in the capacity of a leader without a badge, which is a true sign of leadership. We wish the short listed team every success as they prepare for further growth in their servant leadership skills.

Mrs Janette Salmi
