Tallebudgera Recreation Centre 2019! Year 5 were definitely up for the challenge; rain, hail or shine! It was an exhilarating experience where we were able to build on and develop leadership, resilience, team work and communication skills.
After squeezing all our luggage onto the bus (just), we set off on our way to camp. The excitement was electrifying as we sung songs the whole way to Tallebudgera. Everyone was eager to find out who was in their cabins and day groups. We quickly set up our cabins, packed our day bags and headed for the dining hall where we found out aboutour first activities.
Body boarding, giant swing, quick jump and rock climbing were just some of the many activities and challenges we had to look forward to. The excitement was palpable as we pulled each student up to the top of the giant swing, and yelled 3,2,1 in unison. Adrenalin charged through our bodies as we pulled the blueberry that released us to the ground. We were both exhilarated and relieved when we got to cool down in the water and enjoyed building sandcastles during beach games.
We are so thrilled to have had the opportunity to work alongside both familiar and unfamiliar peers. We enjoyed building new relationships, surprising ourselves by being risk-takers and developing many new leadership qualities.
