The incredible Katie Noonan "Festival of Song" Workshop

Trinity Lutheran College advanced choir students from Musique Cantible and Senior Vocal Group were excited to be invited to participate in “A Festival of Song”, which featured guest mentor and performer Katie Noonan on Thursday 15 March at St Andrews Lutheran College. Ms. Noonan is one of Australia’s most versatile and beloved vocalists. A mother, singer, producer, songwriter, pianist and business woman, this 5 x ARIA Award winning and 7 x platinum selling songstress first received widespread praise as the angel-voiced songstress of indie-pop band George and has since taken audiences on sublime excursions through Jazz, Pop and Classical music.

Trinity students had the incredible opportunity, along with four other Lutheran schools, to workshop two of Ms. Noonan's songs with her, and then perform them with their rehearsed repertoire at the “Evening of Song concert”, which followed the workshop.

Ms Cherie Smith, Director of Arts, was also invited to guest conduct Ms Noonan and the combined 140 student choir in the song “Breath In Now”, one of George’s most renowned songs.

Thank you to Ms. Smith, Mrs Reddrop and Mrs Breen for all their hard work in preparing our students to perform at their very best.

It was a truly amazing experience that allowed students to fully immerse themselves in a quality vocal experience that will stay with them for many years.
