Learning does not start at 8:30 in the morning and finish at 3:00 in the afternoon. Research indicates that ongoing parental involvement in children’s learning reaps benefits in many ways, including shaping positive attitudes to learning and supporting student achievement. While we work very hard to prepare the best learning experiences we can while they are under our care, we also understand that homework can be important and you can support and enrich your children through before and after school activities and engaging tasks at home. Our homework policy can be located here Homework Policy.
We try to have a broad approach to homework. There are many ways we can support and help you with your child's learning at home. Over the last couple of years, we have been developing a Maths site to help you at home with the different strategies we are teaching the students in class. On each Year Level page, there is a link to the maths website. Have a look and see all the videos and games to support your child with their Maths learning.
Are you looking for practical ideas to involve your child in learning at home in a way that is fun and purposeful? How do you find activities that reinforce and build on the concepts and skills your child will encounter in the classroom?
Learning Potential Resources can help. This parent-friendly website is free to access and provides a range of literacy and numeracy activities designed to support the Australian Curriculum for primary school children.
