Romeo & Juliet

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Romeo & Juliet, which was performed last weekend to rave reviews and sold out shows!

Set in the round, 35 budding thespians performed Romeo & Juliet in a dynamic and contemporary re-imagining of history’s star-crossed lovers. Taking a leaf out of West Side Story, the Shakespearean tragedy was set in the 1950s, which made for some fun costumes and hair styles.

The feedback has been absolutely incredible and the quality of the production from the outstanding acting, to costuming, lighting design, music and especially the staging in the round, ensured audiences were completey blown away with the production over all 4 amazing shows!

Congratulations must go to the very wonderful creative team of Director - Jocelyn Moore-Carter and fabulous co-directors Tanya Dobson and Linda Van-Viersen with special thanks to Jenna Baker who did all the amazing fight choreography in the show!

It was wonderful to have the Trinity community support so instrumental to the success of the show and our esteemed thanks go to the Performing Arts Support Group for setting up the front of house so beautifully, selling tickets, drinks and snacks as well as keeping our cast and crew fed each night. Our gratitude also extends to the many, many parents and staff who worked tirelessly on sets, costuming, hairstyling and crew. The show could not have happened without your generous and giving community spirt.

Finally, a huge round of applause to the students who deserve the most acknowledgement. They have worked together beautifully with their varying degrees of experience, sharing, mentoring and supporting each other and the story. They were delightful, warm and grateful at every step of the process and even on difficult days had a passion for Drama and deserved this sort of challenging, memory-making experience. They will always remember their work on and in this show, and will forever be part of “this tale of woe, of Juliet and her Romeo”.

Bravo!!!
