During the 2019 Christmas holidays, 2019 Year 11 students, Connor and Sebastian experienced the trip of a lifetime, three weeks in Tanzania, Africa. Their time away was spent building close friendships with the local Tanzanians as well as with the other boys on the trip from Sydney. They immersed themselves in African culture, visiting a local orphanage, going on an incredible 2-day safari and spending time in a Masai village. They visited the local schools of Mandela & Pasua, engaging with the children at these schools and faced the challenging Mount Kilimanjaro. Trying to fit a life-changing trip into just a few words is incredibly difficult but this was definitely an experience both boys will remember forever. Special thanks goes to their families, friends and the Trinity community for helping them to raise a sufficient amount of money to put four amazing young African children through a year of schooling. Mirror of Hope exists first and foremost to provide education sponsorship to children coming from needy and extremely poor families in Kibera, targeting education as the major transformational tool to bring change and Conor and Sebastian plan to continue fundraising for this worthy cause.
