Gold Coast Secondary Schools' Drama Festival

We had an incredible time hosting the Gold Coast Secondary Schools' Drama Festival on our Junior Years campus last week. The event opened on Thursday 9 August and thirteen schools battled it out, with some amazing and talented young people bringing magic to the stage. Our own Year 7 and 8 students did Trinity and themselves proud with their impeccable behaviour before, during and after their performances.

Three evenings of purpose-driven drama were featured and our Year 7 and 8 Trinity Drama students captivated the audience with their devised theatre piece based on the picture book written by Margaret Wild and illustrated by Freya Blackwood, The Treasure Box. Embellished with true stories of children in war situations, our students delivered an outstanding performance depicting the plight and hope for children in war. We have some exceptionally talented young people, including some fantastic young men proving to be multitalented and embracing their inner performing artist!

A massive congratulations must go to the whole ensemble, with a special mention going to Ava Bizjak, Stella Peckham and Natalie English on their Highly Commended awards for Acting, and to the whole cast who received a Highly Commended for their 'direction' of the piece. The ensemble included:

Ava Bizjak

Tigerlily Bradbury

Saraya Collier-East

Natalie English

Kate Gleadhill

Taite Ledek

Harrison Mather

Sam Modra

Stella Peckham

Poppy Ral-Towson

Luke Watson

Lili Williams
