With the Commonwealth Games fast approaching, we decided to hold the Easter Service a week early. The weather although a little drizzly did not dampen the spirits of the students as they celebrated ‘Christ the Redeemer’ through song, dance, poetry and drama. The P&F supplied a free sausage sizzle prior to the event along with Easter eggs supplied by our sponsor Drakes SUPA IGA at Ashmore City. The community atmosphere prior to the event was fantastic and we thank the P&F for their wonderful support as always. The evening began as usual with our Prep students beautifully singing Jesus is Alive. The message of the night focused on symbols of Easter which began with the lighting of the candle to symbolise the light of Christ. Pastor Michael shared his meaning of Easter through the symbol of the cross. Our Year 5 Sacred Dancers celebrated through dance whilst drama students shared a short skit on Easter. Our Year 2 students did a great job reciting a poem on the symbols of Easter - who would have thought of a pretzel as a symbol of Easter? Bible readings reminded us of God’s messages and the sparkles choir dazzled us with their bunny ears and their beautiful singing.
This year we were thrilled to have some of our Senior students involved in the service, with two Senior vocal students showcasing their incredible singing talents and our Senior Christian Life Leaders leading us in prayer. The night finished in high spirits as the Year 4 students danced their hearts out to “My Saviour Lives”.A big thank you to our Trinity community for your support of this special event.
