co-curricular: The arts

Performing Arts at Trinity

We believe passionately in the role of Performing Arts as an important part of the holistic education Trinity offers. One of the gifts of a relatively small school is that we require mass participation to make our productions happen. No matter their abilities or predispositions, every student from Prep to Year 12 can participate to pull something remarkable together.

The program aims to teach the students; to work together, to develop and strengthen their artistic skills, to encourage participation, to build self-confidence and resilience. The program provides an outlet for creativity and self-expression and encourages students to give back to the performing arts community by helping younger and less experienced performers along their journey. There are so many benefits to children participating in music, dance, or drama; enhanced teamwork skills and discipline, “doing” instead of observing, learning to think creatively, to problem solve imaginatively and to express themselves in a unique manner. It also enhances goal setting, working to a deadline, enhanced performance skills and experience, and increased self-esteem.

ARTS EXCELLENCE

Trinity Lutheran College’s, ‘Arts Centre for Excellence’ program’ is designed to inspire, mentor and prepare students for a career in the arts. Students are invited to audition for a place in this specialized program and are given opportunities to attend workshops, professional performances, and masterclasses with guest artists. Arts Excellence students also receive additional exposure to the industry through performance opportunities with professional productions as they arise.

PRIVATE TUITION

Trinity Lutheran College offers students the very best in private Instrumental, Vocal, Speech & Drama, and Dance tuition with experienced, professional tutors. Private tuition is available for all students who wish to develop and advance their skills in their chosen field. Private tuition complements the co-curricular program, which offers students avenues to progress their skills in a group ensemble and selected private students also have the opportunity to perform each term at the Twilight concerts. Private lessons do incur a lesson fee, which is invoiced by the private tutor.
