We truly hope that every student went home a little bleary-eyed and tired, but exuberant with the joy of youth and the camaraderie of friendship and optimism for the rest of 2017 and their future ahead.

Easter: A time to rejoice and be thankful for the gift of life, love and joy.

Wednesday, 26 Apr 2017

Pastor Michael opened our Easter celebration, sharing his message through the Easter egg symbolising the tomb, the empty tomb and Jesus being alive in all of us. The Junior Years students expressed their interpretation of the Easter story through song, dance and drama. Both our Prep and our Year 2 students sang, the Year 5 Sacred Dancers did a beautiful dance performance and the Year 4 and Year 5 drama students performed the Easter story at intervals throughout the evening. Bible readings reminded us of God's messages and the Sparkles choir dazzled us with their bunny ears and their rendition of "This little light...

Gratitude – It is more blessed to give than to receive

Thursday, 20 Apr 2017

Welcome back to Term 2! We welcome a number of new families to both campuses this term, Mrs Bodero who returns from long service leave and new staff member, Mrs Amanda Kennedy to Team Trinity. Term 1 ended a little abruptly with Cyclone Debbie’s onslaught to the South-Eastern Queensland. I thank the staff, parents and children for their co-operation and support in acting swiftly to ensure the safety of everyone. Staff and students of our Ashmore Road campus braved the weather to be at school for our Shave for a Cure event, coming in to shave their heads or cut their...

Year 10 Camp - from the horse's mouth!

Tuesday, 28 Mar 2017

On the 16th of March, the 2017 Year 10 cohort went to Outward Bound to get to know each other a little better and to develop leadership skills in a variety of situations. At Trinity, everyone aspires to be a leader and be the best possible version of themselves. We all had the opportunity to participate in a plethora of activities that aimed to push us outside of our comfort zones, and the leaders encouraged us to do just that. The staff members that accompanied us on the camp made sure that groups were mixed up regularly, giving us all the chance...

Year 5 Camp: Taking the classroom outside for a learning experience like no other

Thursday, 23 Mar 2017

The students engaged in activities involving teamwork, problem solving and risk-taking. Fears of heights were faced and challenged, with both apprehension and zest, as students participated in the Giant Swing, High Ropes and Rock Climbing challenges. No matter the contest each student stepped up and tried their hardest, keeping a positive attitude and showing curiosity, enthusiasm, commitment and cooperation. “Camp was amazing! I had so much fun that can’t be explained, even with a million reasons." - Joy Gong “I really enjoyed the Giant Swing. It was really high and scary but because I stepped out of my comfort...

Exceptional school - Exceptional people - Exceptional outcomes

Tuesday, 21 Mar 2017

Staff, students and parents at Trinity recently celebrated, together with their families, the outstanding academic achievement of 2016 graduates, Amelia Grace and Minji Song. In February they were both awarded the highest academic honour in the state of Queensland. Amelia was awarded Outstanding Academic Achievement, i.e. the top Year 12 student in 2016 and Minji was awarded the 2016 Highest Results attained by an International Student. This effectively means that these two alumni were both recognised as the 2016 top Year 12 students in Queensland in their respective categories. In reflecting on their exceptional achievements, I realised that their outstanding academic results were made possible...

Trinity's Techspace.

Thursday, 16 Mar 2017

With the one-to-one device program fully implemented through the school, the library no longer had need for a room full of computers, and the word was put out for suggestions as to the room's new purpose. Coincidentally Mr Wilkinson had been seeking a space for the school's technically minded community to engage in independent and small group project learning. He has, with Mr Unsworth’s help, furnished a flexible learning space that entices many staff members and students throughout the day; but at lunch time it becomes "The HUB". While the library provides a community space for students to socialise...

Building Mental Muscles: Chess Success for the Junior Years!

Tuesday, 14 Mar 2017

Last Tuesday our Junior Years' Chess team consisting of 9 students competed in the Chess Tournament at St Stephens College. There were over 230 players in the tournament. We were one of the smallest teams competing on the day, however, our fighting spirit saw us win more ribbons and medals than many other schools. Our only full team finished equal first with our other teams finishing in the top ten despite being down players. Ben Zauner who only took up chess last year won first place in his division. Merit awards were presented to the following students for winning 5 out of their 7...
