Year 5 Camp: Taking the classroom outside for a learning experience like no other

Thursday, 23 Mar 2017

The students engaged in activities involving teamwork, problem solving and risk-taking. Fears of heights were faced and challenged, with both apprehension and zest, as students participated in the Giant Swing, High Ropes and Rock Climbing challenges. No matter the contest each student stepped up and tried their hardest, keeping a positive attitude and showing curiosity, enthusiasm, commitment and cooperation. “Camp was amazing! I had so much fun that can’t be explained, even with a million reasons." - Joy Gong “I really enjoyed the Giant Swing. It was really high and scary but because I stepped out of my comfort...

Exceptional school - Exceptional people - Exceptional outcomes

Tuesday, 21 Mar 2017

Staff, students and parents at Trinity recently celebrated, together with their families, the outstanding academic achievement of 2016 graduates, Amelia Grace and Minji Song. In February they were both awarded the highest academic honour in the state of Queensland. Amelia was awarded Outstanding Academic Achievement, i.e. the top Year 12 student in 2016 and Minji was awarded the 2016 Highest Results attained by an International Student. This effectively means that these two alumni were both recognised as the 2016 top Year 12 students in Queensland in their respective categories. In reflecting on their exceptional achievements, I realised that their outstanding academic results were made possible...

Trinity's Techspace.

Thursday, 16 Mar 2017

With the one-to-one device program fully implemented through the school, the library no longer had need for a room full of computers, and the word was put out for suggestions as to the room's new purpose. Coincidentally Mr Wilkinson had been seeking a space for the school's technically minded community to engage in independent and small group project learning. He has, with Mr Unsworth’s help, furnished a flexible learning space that entices many staff members and students throughout the day; but at lunch time it becomes "The HUB". While the library provides a community space for students to socialise...

Merit awards were presented to the following students for winning 5 out of their 7...

Bop Till You Drop!!

The Disco simply could not have happened without this team of volunteers, including our amazing Performing Arts Support Group, who served in a number of areas on the night, helped around the dance floor and kept our children safe and happy! It takes collaboration, communication and commitment to pull an event like this off - a testimony once again to the incredible community that Trinity is.

Sunshine, Smiles and Spirit - the perfect recipe for a successful Swimming Carnival!

Tuesday, 07 Mar 2017

It was all smiles at the Years 2 and 3 Inter–House Swimming Carnival last Thursday. Participation, house spirit and competition were all on full display and students competed proudly for their house. Every single swimmer gave their very best, contributing points to their house no matter what their placing and we are so proud of all our boys and girls for taking part, regardless of their swimming ability. This event is a great opportunity for students and their families to embrace being part of Trinity's wonderful college community and it was fantastic to see our grandstand filled with parents and family...

Tuesday, 28 Feb 2017

“Cool!” “Can we create something?” “C’mon… let’s make something” “I just LOVE boxes… I would like to make the biggest box house ever!” Just a few immediate, authentic and enthusiastic student reactions overheard this term, as they entered the JHUB, our new Cotlew Campus Maker space and STEAM lab located within the Cotlew campus library. During these earliest days as the space has begun to evolve; the provision of time, space and simple materials during lunch breaks has already ignited imaginations and produced projects that have used creative, collaborative and critical thinking. JHUB has hummed with the activity...
